My favorite dessert: One Ingredient Banana Ice Cream, YUM! (I like to dress it up with a little cinnamon and some nut butter sometimes too)

Hi Toscsa,

Thanks for being so inspiring! i love to see people who are older than me and look better than me, it means that I can let go of the fear of getting older because i can still improve - this is not the best going down hill!

I was wondering if you have any advice or know-how on carb-cycling. This is was introduced to me recently by oxygen magazine, and i have read a lot on it online. I have just started it so its really hard to tell if i am loosing weight so far - i feel thinner and much better than when i was on a 'low calorie' diet way of eating - i dont starve while carb cycling at all.

this is the summary of my cycle: please let me know what you think

no carb day: +_ 150g protein
3+ cups of green fibrous vegs
10g fat

(eat 6/7 times a day)

high carb day: 150g carbs
120+ G protein
10g fat
3+ cups of green fibrous veg
4 sml peices of fruit

(eat 6/7 times a day)

low carb day: 120g carbs
120+g protein
10g fat
3+ cups of green fibrous veg
3 sml peices of fruit

(eat 6/7 times a day)

Im really not sure if i am eating too few or too many carbs. But the diet is very interesting

Please let me know your thoughts!

Bronwyn

My new favorite way to prepare chicken breast is to make my own honey-dijon sauce for it. Just mix up 2Tb honey with 1Tb dijon mustard and paint it on the chicken breasts with a basting brush. Bake (frozen) breasts @375 for 45-50 minutes. Even my picky-eater 8 year old loved it.

Quinoa in place of oats in the morning - it's lower calorie and when mixed with a bit of vanilla soy (all the wheat germ, bee pollen, flax too!) its so, so yummy! Don't want to add sweeteners like I do with the oats either. Feels better on my body than the oats do too. :)

I've just started EC and love all the vegan options in the recipes collections and how easily I can swap the meat protein for soy.

I wish there was a Cooler One type of meal plan for vegan, something that would produce the super speedy results and work in prep for competition.

I'd appreciate any input on this from this chat :)

Hi, Love your blog! My 2 year old LOVES his oatmeal so I like to change it up for him every now and then. His current favorite is with craisins, coconut shavings, fresh or canned pineapple and a bit of vanilla. It tastes amazing and if he could he would eat it for every meal!

My new favorite way of preparing clean chicken breast, is marinating chicken breasts (3-4) in greek yogurt (1/2 cup), minced garlic (1 Tablespoon, more or less to taste) and chopped fresh cilantro (2 Tablespoons). I cut the chicken breast into 2 inch cubes (it will absorb the marinade and cook faster) and cook in the oven (or grill! if weather permits) for 12-15 minutes at 400 or until cooked through. Sprinkle with salt and pepper (if desired). Yum!

I'd like to see some more vegetarian options too, with significant protein. I followed the Butt Book a few years ago before the ECD came out, and got AMAZING results (the title of the book explains it all), but now I am a vegetarian and so hauling around baggies of chicken breasts is out of the question. Also, I'm afraid of a lot of canned tuna out there with the high mercury, and since it's all farmed in other countries, it's hard to trust canned tuna.

Tosca, do you have any suggestions for vegetarians who are looking to get similar results? Protein powder is in my cupboard, and I already eat at least a cup of plain yogurt each day.

Thanks!

Hi Tosca!
I'm an ARMY wife living in Germany and you're blog is fantastic! I am also in classes to become a personal trainer myself and I'm so excited! I recently created a recipe that I think is pretty Clean: Eat Clean Crunchy Chicken! Here is the recipe:

Crunchy Chicken
1 or 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
whole wheat panko bread crumbs (I like Ian's)
whole wheat flour
egg whites

I roll the chicken in the flour first and sort of shake of the excess. Then I dip it in egg whites--completely cover the chicken. Lastly I cover it with the bread crumbs. Then bake it at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes (until done). It's also really good with a small amount of low-fat mozzarella cheese on top!

I'm also a vegetarian, and am looking for good tasting foods and recipes that are high in protein. I really like nonfat Greek yogurt since it's thick, creamy and packed with protein. Steel cut oats topped with Greek yogurt, some nut butter and fruit is amazing! A great tip is to cook several servings of oats and freeze individual servings. Steel cut oats are hearty and freeze really well.

I just started your program today (March Madness) and am already feeling great! I had a banana with 1 T natural peanut butter for breakfast, had a great 1 hour workout (your glutes workout from the current Oxygen magazine plus interval cardio on the tredmill), and then had a 0 sugar protein bar with carrots for a post-work out snack. Of course lots of water too! Excited to eat flaxseed with dinner - yum and filling! Thank you for your inspiration -- my mom has already ordered the book too! Regards, AMB

What is really nice about the videos is that there's someone telling you what to do. It's kind of like watching TV, you plug in and turn off your mind. He tells you, do push ups, you do them - you don't have to think about it. Workouts on my own are usually lackadaisical, I take longer and longer breaks or just decide it's time to hit the shower. Here he just lays it out, and no individual exercise is more than maybe 2 minutes, so you're always changing it up.
