An Eat-Clean Christmas

Christmas was a fun time this year at the Eat-Clean House. My daughters arrived at our place early in the afternoon after spending Christmas Eve and morning with their dad. We started in on the gift giving which is time consuming with 5 kids. I got some new training gear (like my goggles :-)) and a great new winter coat. It's easy to get the girls things since they all have the same style.

After gifts my sister and her family arrived. We set into dinner preparations, which included turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, veggie salad, stuffing, homemade bread, Brussels sprouts, and roasted butternut squash soup. Yummy!
My sister prepared a delicious Dutch Appletart for dessert that was topped off with a bunch of fresh berries. After dinner we watched Mamma Mia. What a great movie. We had so much fun singing along to all the old Abba songs.

On Friday we spent the day playing games, walking with dogs, and doing a puzzle. It was a very low key Christmas that I enjoyed very much.

I get to spend a few more days with the kids before they all head off to their respective centers of higher education. We are preparing for a big New Years bonfire which means more cooking and some house cleaning over the next couple of days.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too.

Stay tuned for a New Year's message!

Tosca....I loved mamma mia on broadway. Haven't seen the movie yet. Sounds like you had a nice, quiet Christmas. Just what you needed after a hectic few months.

Happy New Year to you! Thanks for sharing.

Helen

PS...the goggles are definately YOU!! :)

Tosca, I bought your magazine Clean Eating Jan/Feb issue at the beach in New Jersey ~ love it. Went back the next day to buy the fall issue...definitely going to subscribe!!!! Then my husband bought me Oxygen w/you on the cover and two of your books for Christmas. We both just became fans of Clean Eating after he cooked me lemon chicken w/artichokes and I made banannas and cream for dessert.......FANTASTIC!!!!! We both can't wait for your mens book and plan to buy the kids cookbook this week for more recipes. Please keep up the great work you are a true inspiration to us baby boomers. FYI plan to make the above for my parents who are 83. My dad goes to the gym 6 days a week and didn't start till in his 70's! Hope your show comes to USA tv...such as the discovery health channel.

Sounds like you had the perfect Christmas!
I've missed something...what channel is your show on? When?
I'd love to see it.
I'm anxious to hear your New Year's message! Just couple of days away...

Hi Tosca!
Wow... looks like Canada got a lot of snow this year!!! I envy you, for sure. I had a brown Christmas here in South Korea.
All the best to you and your family for a festive season and for the new years. I'm curious, what are your new year's resolutions?

Love the pics, Tosca!! So glad you enjoyed your holiday! Personally, I prefer low-key holidays to ones with much chaos and excitement... it allows you to enjoy things more and savor time with family :]

Your girls are all gorgeous, Tosca... and they all look striking very much like you!! Genetics is a wonderful thing, wouldn't you agree? ;]]
