Eating Clean in Pictures

I thought this would be a fun way for you to see what I eat in a day. Of course, it isn't always with a pretty table setting... I usually stuff all of this in my cooler. I drink more water than this, too...

Enjoy!

Here's my standard breaky... (not sure why the photo is rotated like that... I can't seem to figure out how to change it).

And a delicious mid-morning meal....

My yummy lunch...

Time for a mid-afternoon meal...

An Eating-Clean Dinner...

And my bedtime snack...

Hi Tosca,

Thanks for your continuing commitment of eating clean education and empowerment. I have seen great results due to cleaning up my eating which I always considered to be quite "healthy".

Now that winter is upon us, I am struggling with the cost of produce. I try to buy things that are "in season" etc, but we don't always like these veggies. Feeding 3 small kids and a picky husband can be discouraging ;-)

As well, I feel like I spend a good portion of the day in the kitchen. I know I should cook large batches, but then the grocry bill goes even higher.

Anyway, sorry for the complaining. And thanks for keeping us all on track!!

You're amazing!

OMG TOSCA! THOSE MEALS LOOK SOOOO YUMMMI! WHY WOULD ANYBODY EAT OTHER WAY THEN THIS? THANKS FOR KEEPING US UPDATED ON YOUR CLEAN EATING! IT IS VERY TOUGH FOR ME NOW THAT THE XMAS PARTY SEASON IS HERE! I ALMOST DO NOT WANT TO GO TO THEM BECAUSE I KNOW THEY WILL NOT HAVE ANY HEALTHY CHOICE FOR ME?!(ITALIAN RESTAURANT) SHOULD I JUST EAT BEFORE I GO AND NOT EAT WHEN I AM THERE? I DON'T KNOW...WHAT DO YOU THINK? I WOULD NOT WANT TO SIT AT THE DINNER TABLE AND NOT EAT!!!! OHHH I WISH EVERYBODY WOULD EAT CLEAN JUST LIKE US! HEEEEEEEELP PLS

Tosca,
Can you have skim milk + banana and whey powder for a post workout shake ?

Does protein keep you awake at night if you eat it too close to bed time?

Hi Tosca. Thank you for taking the time & effort and posting these meal photos. One can really get an idea of portion size and truly see yet again that eating clean doesn't have to be "boring". The effort that you put into your blog is amazing and please know that your blog has changed my life for the better.

Thank you for sharing and being so honest.

Sincerely,
Leanne (Calgary, Alberta)

Tosca, I really appreciate you taking the time to update this blog the way you do. The photos of you living out a real life with your family eating clean and staying fit really makes a positive impact. I have all your books. Because of you, I even subscribe to Oxygen and Clean Eating mags. But it is this blog that makes it clear that you are authentic. Additionally, the way you are open about your weight, sizes, bodyfat and diet during and after competition just blows me away. That helps us folks get perspective on what could be possible for us and gives us a clear view into that competition world. (Who knew you that during competition time you eat that way and get to a crazy 9% bodyfat. Lord have Mercy. That is not for me. I just want to get to 12% and keep my carbs thank you. But it is nice to know Cooler 1 is waiting for me if I need a little help getting ready for a beach vacay. Or recovering from the holidays!) I just wanted to wish you all the best and tell you this so you know how much this blog inspires us girls that are living out Eating Clean with you. Also, for us in the USA, please let us know if it is possible to see your new show outside of Canada. Otherwise maybe you could sell the episodes as a DVD someday?
Your fan and avid supporter, Stefani Linn Mathis
(37 year old Mom who went from 165lbs to 132lbs and from 22% bodyfat to 16% since I started eating clean and working out in May. Size 12 to size 4)
BTW, I guess I follow your goings ons because you have introduced me to the only thing that works for me. I am not hungry. I cannot believe I have made this much progress and never feel deprived. I honestly still need to work on portions and have lost this weight? I have a 3 year old boy and a 11 month old girl and thought after I had my daughter I would always just be frumpy... Now I look good and feel strong. Cannot believe it is me. People always ask me how I did it and I tell everyone who will listen about you. Please don't forget what this means to us. To help someone get healthy and feel confident in their bodies is huge. You have really helped me and countless others. God Bless.

Wow Tosca - thank you SO much for posting these pictures - I agree with the others in that it really gives us a sense of your portion sizes and how yummy clean eating really can be! I am curious to know what you have sprinkled on your chicken and if you baked it in the oven? Also, what is your protein shake made out of? Thank you again! :)

Hi Tosca,

It's true what they say: A picture is worth a thousand words!

A couple of months back, you mentioned that you had a bunch of new "Eat-Clean" books in the works. Since the version for men is coming out soon, is there any way you could update us on when the others are due to be released, especially you new cookbook?

In any case, keep up the great work!

Love the pics Tosca! It really helps being able to see what a portion looks like.

I was wondering if you knew of any good recipes for clean-eating salad dressings and herb/spice mixes for sprucing up chicken, fish etc... Thanks :)

Tosca... you never cease to inspire and amaze me with your varied posts in your blog. I love the pics. Thanks for sharing.

I have gone from 138.8lbs down to 129.8 in 6 weeks. I haven't been able to get under 130 for 9 years now no matter what I tried. Your clean eating books started me out and your blog keeps me going. My sugar cravings are under control and I feel better than ever.

I would love to see another cookbook :)

Thanks for keeping it real Tosca. You are my rock.

Hey there Tosca these photos are AWESOME!

Frankly I am letting things slide a bit now since I'm in my triathlon "off season" (Hershey's kisses -- YUM) but clean eating works for me, just wanted you to know that. To top it off my husband totally buys into it too!

I love reading your blog and appreciate that you do update as often as you do as others have said. I agree the visuals really help! I always have to nudge myself in the right direction . . .

hi tosca,
what's in the bedtime snack and and what time is is okay to have?

Hi Tosca,
Thanks for the pictures...they are yummy! Here's a question with regards to training: I have fairly large upper arms that I am hoping will lean out with eating clean + exercise. Any advice on how to effectively tone this area and get rid of the extra skin that may result thus avoiding "clip the wings" surgery? Many thanks - you're the best!

Well aren't you the photog?? Great job on the photos. Interesting to see what you've eaten and great idea.

This is great! These food photos allow me to see the AMOUNT of food you can eat. I probably don't eat enough (I get hungry, don’t have enough food with me and then make poor choices). I can also see that I definitely don't eat enough protein.

Thanks for providing visual meals !!
