For Your Reading & Viewing Enjoyment... Challenge Day 7

We are ONE WEEK into the Cooler 1 Challenge. I am feeling nice and cleansed for the Arnold. We leave tomorrow!! I have lots of packing to do tonight.

Here is a link to a great article I found in the New York Times yesterday. It's all about how exercise doesn't do it all. It basically proves that diet is 80% of the battle, while exercise is a mere 10%. It's important, of course, don't get me wrong (we need our strong muscles), but for true weight loss and health we need to EAT CLEAN!! http://health.nytimes.com/ref/health/healthguide/esn-exercise-ess.html

Here is the link to the segment I did on Better TV on Friday. Select the segment from the right-hand side of the screen: http://www.better.tv/

I'm off to pack and get to bed on time.

COLUMBUS, OHIO HERE WE COME!!!!

Great interview on Better TV. I can relate to the part about the bad effects of sugar, for me when I have a sugar/junk meal it throws me off (hormonal and chemical imbalance)because it effects your brain first then hangs around your hips! Sometimes its not even about looking good on the outside it's first about doing good for the inside, and everything else will follow: energy, clarity and a positive perspective. Eat "real" that's what I learnt from your books Tosca, thanks again!

Tosca,

I started really eating clean Monday. Before Mon. I dreaded eating. Every time I ate I got really bad stomach cramps and the D word...I wish I could say that led to weight loss but instead I've ballooned up to 220 lbs (the largest I've ever been!). I have been following Cooler 1 for a few days and am switching to Cooler 2 tomorrow. Since Monday I haven't had ONE PROBLEM with my stomach or digestive system. I haven't started exercising yet (wanted to get my diet in control first) but now I actually have energy to actually start! I thought I would miss caffeine, but I don't even want coffee anymore, just water! I feel clean, light, alert...not bogged down, gross and continually tired.

Sorry this is so long but I just wanted to say that you are an inspiration...Thank you!!!

I am a huge fan and an avid Eat Clean follower.........very suprised that this article, posted from the NY Times, was cited....it's hard to see the benefit in presenting exercise from this perspective. While factual, I wonder if the average sedentary individual might misunderstand the information. I see that the author is actually encouraging an under-active population to get moving slowly and progressively..... but the tone of the article as a whole....hmmm

Off to Ohio!
