The Leopard shows Its Spots

Hi All!

What a kafuffle (how do you spell that?) over a dress! It was actually longer than anything anyone else was wearing and I spent a lot of time thinking what I would wear to that dinner. The dress is Dolce and Gabanna and I realize the bra is showing but that is part of the dress! It is sewn into the top and it SUPPOSED to show. Now the fact that the dress was slipping down was a clothing malfunction but not of the Janet Jackson kind! I even used double sided tape to stick the dress down on my bare skin. But I had lost about 5 pounds on the booth over the first two days so i didn't quite fit the dress the way I was meant to. What to do?

However I would like to put this into perspective. Imagine how it feels for me to be swimming upstream against the current of all the young things. I will never dress my age - whatever that means! I will dress for the occasion and for how I feel. The youngsters at the dinner and the show were wearing far less clothing and showing it all. Remember we are at the Arnold. You don't wear your pyjamas to the show. It is all about skin and curves and muscle. If you dress to cover it all up what is the point?

Let the Leopard Show her Spots!
Cheers
Tosca

PS. Going to fix that dress now and eat a big piece of dark chocolate! Yum!

Tosca,

I think you looked beautiful and gorgeous in that dress. From reading your blogs you are a beautiful person inside too!

I have to admit that I had an ahh moment. I am soon to approach my late 40's and have felt that I feel too young to play the part. I am overweight today but am very actively fixing that. I am like you in that I will dress to how I feel. Which is beautiful... even with being overweight (me not you). YOU are exceptionaly beautiful and even if the younger ladies are showing more, they have no where near your class, inner or external beauty! You inspire so many of us

Well shoot, when I saw you in that dress I thought.....DANG! You looked great and make us 40 somethings proud!

I saw you in the dress and my first thought was "holy moley", I want to look like that! It was appropriate for your amazing body and for the situation and the "haters" were just jealous. You looked wonderful! Bring it!

Tosca,
You looked great in the dress. I am the biggest prude of all, and I think the dress was perfect, and not at all inappropriate.

What did the naysayers think you should wear...a velvet victorian gown with puffed sleeves? haha.

Thanks for your continuing honesty and letting us peek into your life. I applaud your hard-working and committed work ethic.

Thanks for all you do!

Tosca,

I think you looked beautiful not because of the dress but because you looked happy and comfortable in your own skin. Thats what a few years on ya can do. Eat some chocolate now!!

I thought you looked amazing in that dress! But if it's causing you problems, I'd be happy to take it off your hands! :)

I agree with all the others here! You are a STUNNA! I think it is great that you look the way you do, you have worked very very very hard to get it!
Trust me, if there was a fuss - it was most likely jealously!

If you got it, flant it!

I'm 35 and dress how I feel (which most of the times it's showing my skin a little):)
I don't think you need to defend your choice; this is a free country, enjoy it!!!!

I can't believe people said that you looked trashy in that dress. You are the complete and total opposite of trash! You are such a classy, disciplined and determined woman. We can all learn something from you. You looked absolutely fabulous in that dress, and you should be proud of yourself. Thank you for showing us all we we can be if we work for it.

To the ladies with the nasty comments, I think it's time to re-examine yourselves.

Take care , and enjoy your vacation.

Tosca - You looked awesome in the dress. Those that made those remarks are just Jealous. It actually saddens me, because I like to think the group that comes here to your forum and Blog would not be the kind of person to say something like that to you.

Keep being you and looking Smoking Hot! If I could even look 10% that great I'd be doing well!

Tosca,

I am 22 and you look better in that dress that I would! Im over half your age and you look better than me! If I looked that amazing, not at your age but just in general, I would definitely wear it! You have an amazing body that you have worked very very hard for, I think that you deserve to show it off! :)

I wish I could wear that dress. it looked beautiful. What motivation to eat clean. Keep us going. Thanks for being real!

Never mind.. You KNOW you are The Queen of the Ball anyway ;)

Tosca, I wear an F cup so take it from me and my experience. The women who make the most fuss over someone else's breasts often just don't have any of their own to fuss over.

Tosca i already made a comment about the dress but i must add something. Those woman have the right to think what they want. However given all that you do for us i feel the right of free speech was used poorly here. Given the place you were wearing it and the body builders people that were most likely in you company, it was totally in order. You have always dressed right for the occasion, whether it is on TV, or a shoot, or a sexy night out with your handsome hubby. People that know what you are like will agree. Also, they said, dress your age. What age is suppose to dress like that if they think it is trashy anyway!!!!!! WE LOVE YOU TOSCA!!!!

I have all your books, but I was wondering if you could show more of your before pictures. The ONE you show doesn't look like you are that heavy.
Thanks,

Dear Tosca,
I purchased your books from Amazon and am eagerly awaiting their arrival. I am 39 and just finished my last breast cancer treatment. I was so depressed about the bc, in addition to Fibromyalgia, CFS and PTSD that I have gained 60 pounds over the last 2 years or so. You have inspired me to get fit and stay fit. I am going to lose this weight and totally rock 40. The D&G dress is divine and your physique in fantabulous. Let the little girls bitch n moan. Don't you remember how insecure you were in your teens/20's. You couldn't PAY me to live through that again! One day, those little girls will grow up and realize they really made fools of themselves and cringe at the memory. You rock!!!! I will send some pics on my "life-overhaul"
Sincerely,
Cat

Tosca,
You looked fabulous as always!!! Don't let the ones who don't look as fabulous as you get you down b/c of their own jealousy! I can only hope some day I will look 1/2 a fantastic as you. Keep on doing what you're doing...it's working for ya girl!!!
Have a great vaca...you sooo deserve it.

As a 29 year old woman I have to say this: Go amazonia go! I'm proud of you wearing that awesome dress. That picture gave me the inspiration I needed to start this great eat-clean journey:-)

Is there a difference between 'whole wheat' and 'whole grain'? If so, which one would you recommend over the other and is one a better/cleaner choice over the other?

Thanks!

Is there an accurate way to calculate how much protein a person should be consuming each day? If so, what is it?

Anonymous said...

Tosca, I'm a bit confused about the clean eating rule of combining complex carbs and protein at each meal. Do complex carbs from whole grains need to be consumed at every meal/snack or is it ok for your complex carbs to come just from fruits and vegetables at each meal/snack?

Anonymous said...

Tosca, Is it true that foods high in vitamin C should be consumed with protein in order for the protein to be fully absorbed by the body?

Anonymous said...

Tosca, when it comes to consuming protein bars or protein powders do I also need to consume complex carbs from either fruits/vegetables/whole grains in order to complete my 'protein/carb' combination? Or do the bars/powders alone have enough protein & carbs for one 'meal'? (some examples of the protein bars that I eat are: Luna, Clif bars, meso-tech bars)

Anonymous said...

Is it true that the body can only absorb 25 grams of protein at one time?

Oh brother.

If I hear one more person comment about dressing one's age I will scream. One should dress for their figure.

When I was obese I dressed in bag lady clothes.

Now that I am not - I dress in whatever the heck I want. Funny thing - every time I go and buy clothes there is no label that says "you must be age 18 to wear this" NO SUCH WARNING LABEL - no - usually for me it says size 2 ;)

I don't know who makes the rules but I sure do not follow them.

One thing about being older - we can make our own rules! We have earned the right to make our own choices.

You "got it" Tosca - flaunt it.
