Killer Arms & Glutes

Or should I say killed!! I totally wrecked them yesterday in a nasty workout. I don't know what I was thinking. Sometimes my energy gets the better of me. I lifted really hard with my arms using heavier weight than normal. I still had energy so I decided to work on my glutes. They felt saggy since I had been sitting on my keester all day long writing. I did 3 sets of lunges with 20 reps and 15 pounds in each hand. After this my legs were shaking. So then I decided to balance it our with 3 sets of deadlifts with 11 reps and a 30 lb bar. To ice the cake I did my favorite exercise - kneeling cable kickbacks. After 3 sets of 15 with 65 pounds on each leg I actually had to sequester my husband into pushing me up the stairs. Oh Clean Eaters... I think I overdid it. MY LEGS HURT!!

So I pumped out a bunch of chapters yesterday while happily working alongside my daugher, Kiersten, who was finishing up her final paper of her 3rd for Queen's University. We munched on some dark chocolate to make the day a little more enjoyable!

Now, I am heading into Toronto. I will be a guest on Virgin Radio this afternoon between 5 and 6pm EST. You can listen online here. The Listen Live Link is at the top of the page.

Have a great day Clean Eaters!!

Thanks for sharing that you hurt, too! It's nice to know that even a pro can overdo it! :)

Can't wait for the radio interview! IT's nice to know that you're human like the rest of us and also feel the sweet pain of a great workout! :)

Your probably already know this, but I love to take an Epsom Salt bath which helps with the sore muscles. Good luck on your interview!

Tosca, I love you. I have'nt found one of you blogs as endearing as this one. "Tosca Is Human For Goodness Sakes!!!!!" I am the one who writes you periodically about my "over doing it workouts." I will wish you a quick recovery. And.... "tone down girl". But I totally get it. You have my sympathy with the sore legs/butt. XXXXOOOO, Sue

This is great! I love that you worked so hard. You have inspired me to work harder than ever. I love that sore feeling and I'm sure you are now wishing you hadn't done so much, but wasn't it fun? :) Great job!

You are incredible and truth be told, my real life hero!

I have the most recent Oxygen magazine and your article brought my tears - no lie, and this while sitting in Starbucks.

I tried to write about it in my own blog and I couldn't do it. The tears were too many and too much!

You really truly do rock!

Happy Easter to you and yours.
