This is for Pa1385 and any others out there who are feeling frustrated with their progress. Don’t think for one minute that even I might get upset with my body. I do!! These bodies of ours are changing all the time and give us good days and bad. So what!! We just have to be a bit smarter. If your body is throwing a plateau your way, that means it is really telling you “Tosca, Pa1385 and the rest of you, I am on to you. You did this yesterday, the day before yesterday and three weeks ago. I will just sit here and let you work hard but I will adapt. I will save my energy and keep my fat and I won’t let go! I am smarter than you Tosca!”

Ooohhh! Now that is when I get mad and I think to myself, “Tosca you have to get moving. Try doing it differently. Yes I did do triceps pressdowns and press behind neck every other day for the last three weeks. How dumb was that! Let’s switch things up and do triceps dips and lying triceps stretch instead.” There are many strategies to bust out of these situations. Move differently. Change up exercises but don’t give up.

Pa1385 what are you going to do if you quit? You may go back to your old ways. Don’t do it. The other gals have it right. They want you here with us and we want to see you progress. You may have to change your expectations and you may have to look at yourself differently but you have to do something so stick to Eating Clean and we will all get your through it. You mentioned something very telling to me – you said that the scale has not budged but you have tone. That means you have exchanged fatty tissue for muscle tissue which weighs more so you ARE progressing. This is good. You are on the brink.

Let’s try something. Since we all want you to succeed. Please consider posting your daily eating for one day – honesty matters here. I will post my suggestions and then we will see some change!!

Good luck and I hope you accept my challenge.

Hugs,
Tosca

This post came just in time!

I'm at the Clean Eating Message Board, and we do have a "Chicken Comp" going on there(did you know..?)

It's been 4 weeks, and I'm totally frustrated - but not givin' it up! All the "Sisters in Iron" at the M Board, AND YOU TOSCA, are making me keep up the work!

This post was certainly what I needed to hear today - Thanks!

(Love the "go-for-it" look on your face at the pic here!)

You are all so motivating! I too have felt that lack of motivation that comes from feeling like I'm not making progress. Thanks for reminding us to keep changing it up, Tosca! I know my downfall is eating great all day and then losing it after dinner. Can't figure out if I'm not eating enough during the day or what. What's a good before bed meal/snack? If I don't eat, I get hungry in the middle of the night. Annoying! Thanks Tosca!

I follow your blog regularly and I have The Eat-Clean Diet for Family and Kids. I made The Best Granola bars yesterday and wanted to give you the credit on my blog. They are very good.

Thank you. How can I give up with all of you behind me. It almost brings me to tears. Thank you so much, really.
A typical day includes:
1/2 cup organic rolled oats with 1 tbls. organic salt free peanut butter and 1/4 cup of Fage greek yogurt(fat free).

1 cup skim milk and 1 scoop of whey protein powder

1 organic bean burrito over 2 cups of spring mix salad greens

1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese and 10 grapes

5 oz. salmon ( I eat a lot of salmon) 1 cup mixed baked sweet potato and broccoli.

if I'm hungry an apple before bed and lots of water during the day.

Just a question to Pa 1385: do you get enough good fats? Do you add any good quality oils to your diet? We need good fats even to support weight loss - if the body does not get any, it keeps what it has (to put it unscientifically). Salmon is good for omega3.

All the best to you and everybody!

It's true- good fat in, equals bad fat out. And ramp up your cardio!

I'am getting toned but the scale hasn't really moved... I feel like I'am progressing but my stomach is wide and I'm trying to get my sides(love handles) to tighten-up and they are stuborn. I'm thinking my diet is the only thing that can change that area??

#1 -
3 egg whites & 1 yolk, 1 cup of cooked oatmeal
#2-
1 cup Cottage cheese with pear slices
#3-
ground turkey with black beans & brown rive
#4-
banana & almond butter (bf workout)
#5-
Proetein Shake (after workout)
#6-
Grilled chicken with veggies and brown rice

Remember, tomorrow comes regardless of what we do, so why not do the right thing. 2 months from now you might look back and say...hmmm, maybe I should have kept with it....I wonder where I'd be?? But if you go back to your old ways you know exactly where you will be.
Patience...it is a virtue

Yes Maari I do get good fats from olive oil, advocato, salmon, almonds, etc. Trust me I have read every fitness and nutrition book out there including the magazines for the last 20 years. I switch up my routine every 6 weeks and do plenty of cardio with my heart rate in the right place. This is why I am so frustrated. As far as I can tell I am doing everything right( I can improve my diet some more). I may see a specialist about hormones but I too think that I may be trading muscle for fat at this point and the scale will follow soon.

Hello everyone, tonight I am feeling a bit bloated. This weekend was very high in sugar and not very clean at all. That's past now for the present. Today I had a very clean day but I am feeling bloated. Any suggestions - Here's my day:

#1 - apple w/ 1 TBSP almond butter

#2 - 1 scoop of pea protein (allergice to dairy); 1C Almond Milk; 1C Frzn Blueberries

#3 - 2C spinach; chicken; newman's italian dressing 2TBSP

#4 - celery stick; 2TBSP Hummus

#5 - 1 SVG Chicken and Rice Recipe from Eat Clean Cookbook; 1/2 sweet potato (recipe includes broccoli, carrots, I added celery instead of mushrooms and watercress)

I had 8 - 10 cups of water and 1 large mug of herbal tea tonight.

Any suggestions?
