The best piece of equipment that I have purchased is a TRX suspension system. For about $150 dollars (the cost of less than one month at the gym for me) I had a piece of equipment that would replace any weight machine and free weight. Because it uses my body weight I can make each exercise as easy or as difficult as I want/need and I can switch between exercises in less than 10 seconds. I can work every muscle in my body at the same time as I work on balance and core strength due to the stabilization required.

When the nice weather comes I can unhook it from my basement ceiling and take it to the park and work out in the sun and on the grass!

I've paired this with running and cycling for a great out-of-gym workout plan!

Ok so I have about 500 ideas for no gym workouts, here are my favs:

1) go to the park with your kids and play on the monkey bars, do some chin-ups, do push-ups with your feet on the swings, do shuttle-sprints to the sand-pit and back. Play tag! :)

2) Val-slides - need I say more, these are just the best piece of on-the-road equipment.

3) Rubber bands. I just invested in a $30 25lb band. I can do rows, assisted pull-ups, pullovers - really tons of exercises to do with them.

4) bodyweight circuits. I pick 5 of my fav exercises. do them each 50 secs with 10 secs rest (2 circuits) so 10 mins. then finish with a tabata. Awesome metabolic workout.

Keep up the great work Tosca. xx

My best at home workout always includes my adjustable free weights or bands and my Oxygen magazine!! I love to do the circuit routines, and to really bump up the calorie burn I use a jump rope in between each move!!

Mine is a small tip but hopefully it might inspire someone like me to at least take a small step in the right direction.

I keep a five pound hand weight beside the bathroom sink. While brushing my teeth I do arm work. Anytime I wash my hands I do some work. I'm in front of a mirror so I can watch my form(haha).

I have been doing this for a few weeks and I can tell there is some improvement!
