It Must Be Fall

Hello Clean Eaters,

So I'm still on the mend from my calf injury. I am doing much better though. I managed 30 minutes on the treadmill yesterday at a pace of 9mph. Phewf!! It was tough. I had physio yesterday afternoon to assess my progress. So far so good. I am really happy to have so much mobility back after such a short period of time.

I also decided to make homemade applesauce today. I had a bushel of apples that needed to be put to good use. Tastes delicious!!! There's a recipe for No Cook Applesauce in the original Eat-Clean Diet Cookbook if you're looking for something to do with apples you have lying around. It pairs so well with a handful of nuts, on a healthy muffin instead of butter, and atop oatmeal in the morning. Yummy!!!

Of course, talking about all of this delicious food is no fun for me right now. I am preparing for an Oxygen photo shoot and need to be in tip top condition. Cooler #1 all the way!

I've been crazy busy with appearances this month on The Doctors, and Extra, and more and will continue to be. Keep an eye on my Appearances schedule for things in your area. I'll be in Peterborough, Ontario on Wednesday. Read about it here!

For those of you who have a copy of the NEW Eat-Clean Cookbook I'd love to know what you're thinking about it?? Any favorite recipes yet??

-Tosca

I made the protein bars, the ones with oatmeal and nuts. I forgot to put the protein powder in until last and it turned out more like protein crumblies, but it tasted great. I have been sharing it at work and didn't tell anyone any difference. Its like what some people call "puppy chow" snack food. Last night I made the chicken piccadillo (sp?) and it was wonderful!!! The best part is that it was so low-caolorie that I could eat seconds without guilt. My next recipe in line is the veggie chili. I have to say that everything I have ever tried in Tosca's cookbooks has always worked out wonderfully. Some of the recipes from the original book, the split pea soup, is a staple in my house. I freeze a batch often.

Tosca, i am in excellent shape and have been working out for 30 years. I lift and do aerobic training. I consider myself to look in as good of shape as you are. i am 47 and run (usually interval training one to two times a week. 9mph is the highest i go when interval training for one minute. I just tried going 9mph on the treadmill for as long as i could. After one minute i was about to fly off the machine. And just about injured myself. I believe you must have made a typo. It is not healthy to do a sprinting rate (if even possible) for 30 min. So no one else possibly injures themselves can you inform us if in fact you did mean 9mph for 30 min. or possibly an incline of 9. Just trying to keep your followers safe safe. Thank you for your attention to this.

I got your cookbook last night and did my shopping today. Sundays are cook and freeze day, so I will be able to try 3-4 recipes then. I will keep you posted. As for the treadmill, I run 8-8.5, so don't let them give you a hard time :) Hope you heal quickly!

Tosca, I am the one who thought you must have made an typo on the 9mph. After reading the previous bloggers comment , I owe you and appology. And i also have goal to reach (to be able to jog 9mph for 30 minutes). I will post when I have met that goal!! Also i have all of your books, including the most beautiful (the last one) WOW, tosca you out did yourself. i will be gifted several of those for Xmas. One note though, in it you stated that you have lots of friends who have husbands that hunt. Don't forget woman also hunt. I shot my first 5 point deer last year. What an amazing feeling was. The beauty in sitting out there in the peacefulness of nature and watching this magnificent animal approach. We eat deer and Elk all of the time. Do you have any great ideas for seasonings. XO to you, and again i am deeply sorry for my previous comment if it offended you.
