Monday and Tuesday
Sorry for the hiatus in posting folks. I had a BUSY weekend. I am plugging away with competition prep and have provided my journal entries from yesterday and today for food and training.
Monday, August 11th:
Eating:
Breakfast:6 am - I had a BIG presentation this morning and had to function properly, hence the early meal
500 ml water
1 cup cooked Ezekiel cereal
1 banana
Black coffee
Mid Morning: 11 am
4 egg whites
Black coffee
1/2 cup blueberries
Lunch: 12:30 pm
5 oz. smoked salmon
1 small raw cucumber
1 small raw tomato
500 ml water
Mid Afternoon: 4 pm
500 ml water
Dinner: 7pm
6 oz. chicken
1 cup mixed vegetables
Bedtime: 10pm
6 oz. egg whites
** Monday was not a good eating day! I had the camera crew following me around on top off the seminar in the morning. My mid morning meal was too late and I missed my mid afternoon meal altogether. Needless to say I was VERY lightheaded.
Training:
Weights: Ab twisting session, arms. 3 different exercises per body part. 10 - 12 sets.
Tuesday, August 12th:
Eating:
** I woke up at 4:45 am this morning and had egg whites and a tomato because I was STARVING and couldn't sleep.
Breakfast: 8:30am
1 cup cooked oatmeal
2 Tbsp each bee pollen and flaxseed
9 oz. wheat grass
500 ml water
Black coffee
4 egg whites
Mid Morning: 11:30 am
4 egg whites
1/2 raw red pepper
Lunch: 1pm
Green salad with olives and 4 oz. beef tenderloin
Mid Afternoon: 3 pm
1 apple
1 egg white
Fennel tea
Dinner: 6:30 pm
6 oz. orange roughy
Zucchini, sweet potato, and tomato stack
Green beans
Training:
Cardio: 35 minutes of running on the treadmill
Weights: I haven't done these yet... will update tomorrow!
Q&A:
Q: What is wheat grass?
A: Juice from very young sprouted wheat seeds. It is a food full of anti-cancer power, it is very hydrating, it is full of protein, nutrients, and it mainly helps to keep the body less acidic especially when you are eating a lot of protein as I currently am while prepping for this competition. It tastes better than plain water, and I feel energized when I drink it!
My weight has currently plateaued at 146 pounds, but this is okay because I know this means I am building muscle. I tend to lean out too quickly and have to limit my cardio.
I notice my pants are loser, but honestly when I tried on my posing suit yesterday I felt pretty disheartened. I have a long way to go! Stay with me!

You may not be in competition shape yet, but I'm sure you still look great!
I would love to see your before and after pictures (and I bet many others on this blog would too). Perhaps we'll have to wait until the TV show premieres. By the way Tosca, are you at liberty to tell us what network it will be appearing on? Thanks.
You can do it! You help motivate us to keep on track to healthy eating and exercise. You are a inspiration for us all..
So true, you are an inspiration to all of us! Best wishes! And Thanks for Sharing!
Hi Tosca!
First I want to say that I'm wishing you the best with your training and slimming down for the competition! My grandfather and I use to watch the bodybuilding & fitness competitions all the time when I was a little girl. I always wished I could be just like them!
I was curious about the Wheat Grass. Is it a powder that you mix with water? Could you tell me what brand you use?! I would love to try it and I would like to have an idea of what to look for when I finally get to the health food store.
Thank you so much, and good luck!
I commend you on your honestly. As someone who has competed before, I would have to say it's refreshing to have you show us a "realistic" side of contest - preps - No one is perfect but you are doing a great job. You show gratefulness for your overall health and that is a wonderful thing! Be encouraged!
I am curious, Tosca... do you use protein shakes as any part of your meals in pre-competition and if not..may I ask why? I'm trying to decide for myself, if they are really a good "clean" source of protein.
Thank You.
When you say that you have egg whites as part of a meal, how do you fix them or eat them?
